I absolutely love tissue paper sunflowers, but I wasn't sure that we had the time & money to make them, so I had to look for an alternative.  It was not easy, but here is what we did & I just wanted to share in case someone else has the same problem.  We used brown construction paper for the middle & yellow construction paper cut in strips for the petals.  Green streamers torn in half (long ways) were used for the stem & green construction paper for the leaves.  It was so easy & I am so pleased with the outcome.  We don't start AR until the 30th, so we have so much more to do, but I just wanted to share.  Here is a picture.
