I am asking for prayers for our Mission Trip to Honduras Sept. 8-15.  A group of 20 from our church will be there providing support & relief for the staff of a children's home.

I know it's going to be awesome because Satan keeps trying to put obstacles in our path.

Our church is also in the process of refocusing & I think this trip will provide the impetus to put us on the right path.

God is already working for our trip.  As some of you know, Hurricane Felix hit the east coast of Nicaragua as a Category 5 hurricane.  Within 24 hours, it was no longer a named storm.  (Hurricanes don't do that.)  The National Hurricane Center was no longer even tracking it.  (They usually track it for 5 days after landfall.)  It even turned south (away from San Pedro Sula).  Hurricanes don't do that in Central America, either according to our pastor.  He said if you followed the track on the map it was as if a giant hand just pushed it away from the area where we will be.  We all know Whose Hand that was!

We had a meeting last night & everyone was pumped but also nervous.  Four of our team have never flown before.  Here are the first names in case anyone wants to pray for specific people:  Ron, Toy, Jaime, Maria, Jai, Myra, Kayla*, Derek, Jamie, Jodie*, Selina*, Brittany*, Lisa, Charles, David, Martha, Becky, Christa, Cathy & Larry.  The * are the ones who've never flown before.

Thanks for the prayers you've already sent up & keep on sending them.  This is going to be an awesome praise for God.

We are back from our trip.  It was awesome.  The house parents & the kids at the children's home were really encouraged by all we did.  Haven't got any pictures downloaded yet.

Thanks for all of your prayers. Our flights went according to plans, no one got hurt or sick.

Most of all I'm amazed at our youth that went along.  No complaining or whining.  Never once did we hear, "I'm hot, I'm tired, I don't want to eat that."  They also did their assigned chores & even pitched in on ones they weren't assigned.
