I saw in Children's Ministry magazine that next year's project had to do with soccer balls. Can we have more information? Thanks!

We'll have more information up on the Operation Kid-to-Kid Web site in the next couple of days. You'll LOVE the GO (Gospel Outreach) soccer balls!

I'm guessing that the colors are a memory aid similar to the Wordless Book or something even more simplified.

But it doesn't look like there's much to do with them

One of the reasons we hopped on the Kid to Kid program was that the kids had the opportunity to do something for ministry instead of mom and/or dad putting out their money to purchase something for their kid or kids to give away. I cannot justify spending VBS money on soccer balls that are nothing more than purchasing balls to send. I would have to go back to something our denomination supports and find a way to make it personal for VBS kids. I so love the idea that the kids have to participate rather than mom or dad throwing whatever at the project that I do not want to do service projects that do not include personal time by each child. I hope the soccer balls require something from the kids--other than that, it's just another place looking for money to make it happen and not as useful as those that let the kids become immersed in personal service. It doesn't mean the project isn't worthwhile--to me it just isn't as useful in sharing the concept of service with children you are trying to get to
