| I am compiling a list of theme days for Sunday school. Trying to assign an acronym to each (such as GUM - God using me, gum is used for prizes, decor, etc, FROG - fully rely on God, frogs everywhere, etc.). Any ideas? Also open to fun days such as crazy hat day, backwards day, etc. Thanks

Well, I am not great at the acronym thing, but my kids LOVED pajama day at school...it was actually a fundraiser for a local charity...each child who wore PJs donated a can of food for the food pantry. Twin day is fun...you and a buddy dress alike...Tie day (great on father's day)...that's all I can think of at the moment, but if I come w/ anymore, I will let you know. Blessings! Kimberly

| D.O.G. = Depend On God Treasure Day - kids bring in a favorite "treasure". Tell them that you have a picture of one of God's greatest treasurers. Something He loves so much and keeps close to His Heart. He will do everything to keep this treasure safe - Then display the largest mirror you can get your hands on. You can use past VBS themes also? Look at the lesson for the day and try to find something creative - For example, with Joseph, everyone wear a coat (the more colors the better - maybe have a contest who has the most color on their coat) - For the plagues have a bug day - anyone have a bug collection to display? Can kids bring in a picture of a bug from a magazine to make a giant collage? Baby Moses - Don't tell the story ahead of time - just ask for everyone to bring in a basket - then decide which one would be best for a baby (have a doll on hand to demonstrate or try out each basket) Christmas - ask each kid to put a picture of themselves in a box and gift wrap it with birthday wrapping paper. Have the kids place them under your church's Christmas tree - this would be awesome during offering time of a worship service? Dress in Birthday party hats that day - have birthday cake, etc. Now I am getting excited about theme Sunday School days. I think I will start that in our Sunday School.
