We have decided that the Children's program for the congregation will have the setting of a barn with the animals.  We are thinking of the kids either dressed as an animal with a speaking part or have an older youth read the part and the animal sort stands around before going to the barn. I've seen a short program I think is called "A Mouse in the Stable".  Has anyone viewed the book or have any suggestions or idea's of where we can find something pretty much done and very simple to do?  Our children are mainly 3-6 year olds with a handful of 7-10 year olds.  We can use the youth group (about 8) and the Choir as fill ins or help.  Our program will be about 30-35 minutes.

Suggestions?

Thank you.

Check out the Mouse's Tale with this link...http://store.grouppublishing.com/OA_HTML/ibeCCtpItmDspRte.jsp?item=15585&section=16791

Here's the description of this easy, instant Christmas pageant:

Delightful Christmas pageant, Christ's birth through the eyes of the stable animals. No memorizing needed! Actors follow scripted movements, or improvise their own actions.

The Mouse's Tale is the Christmas story, narrated by Granny Mouse, and told by the animals in the stable Christmas night. Meet the animals... -the donkey who carried Mary to Bethlehem, -the cow who gave up his manger for the baby Jesus' bed, -the sheep who saw the angels on the hilltop, and -the camels who were guided by a bright star in the East...as they witnessed the miracle of Jesus' birth.

Contains all that's needed to prepare:
Compact disc with all the spoken dialogue, sound effects, and music. You even get songs for the whole congregation to sing with the children.
Book and CD provide clip art to make fliers, bulletins and posters to publicize the pageant.
Most of the props can be created from provided patterns, or borrowed from homes or Church.
Costumes are combinations of makeup, patterns and clothing.
Ideas for adjusting the number of roles to fit your group.
Suggestions for lengthening pageant time with readings and songs.
Rehearsal ideas that allow children to easily learn their parts, without memorizing or lip-syncing.
