What have been some of the trips you have planned in the past? What were some successes and failures? What would you like to see happen in your ministry this upcoming year?

I can only tell you where we have been and where we are going.  This past summer we went to Missisissippi to help repair homes damaged from Katrina, and we are planning to return (to a different area) this coming summer.  For both of these trips we have went though the Mississippi Conference of the United Methodist Church.  I highly recommend working through them, because they were able to put us in a work environment that was suitable for our group's ability.  They also had all of the materials we needed and provided lodging and food for a fairly low price.  I know this sounds like an advertisement, but our entire group was incredibly impressed with the organization on their end and we recommend it to everyone.

I think we've decided on a camp type thing called Quest at Green Lake Conference Center in Wisconsin. It's connected to the American Baptist Church.

thanks though

Summer of '07, we went to Honduras for a week (mission trip) and to Montreat, NC for a weeklong youth conference.

Summer of '08, we are planning to go to the Bahamas on a sailing mission trip (already made a deposit on the trip - and, as you can imagine, I have as many adult volunteers going as youth!!!) and to Montreat, NC again. We may also do a domestic mission trip to one of our supported groups in Tennessee.

Our local presbytery does a youth minister group planned week of youth activities combining all the churches. The lock-in is always a blast with LOTS of kids!

I've had to change my trip now that I'm expecting a baby at the end of July. I thing we're going to King's celebration (i think that what it's called)

This may not be a summer trip depending on when you go but there's great conferences from Dare 2 Share Ministries all year round. For more information you can link on the link provided. www.dare2share.org. I highly recommend them!
