| | The last 2 years we did mission trips. 2 years ago it was to Neon Kentucky (we're from Michigan) to build homes. This past summer it was to Toronto Canada to an inner city ministry where we worked in food kitchens, homeless shelters, senior citizen homes, and with disabled persons. This coming summer we are going to Colorado for a Spiritual Adventure trip with Noah's Ark. It's not a mission trip but our group is in need of spiritual challenge. Combine the spiritual challenges with opportunities to be physically challenged I think that will help us bond and grow as a group both spiritually and relationally. |

| | What we are doing this summer and did a three years ago was awesome. We had a missions trip to our hometown. We had teens sign up and pay like a normal trip. We all stayed in our church overnight and had different families in the church sponsor meals for us for the week. During the day we worked with habitat for humanity, a local soup kitchen, a homeless shettler, and also did some chores for our church and some shut ins. Because of gas prices and meals being non-existant it was inexpensive and showed the students the real needs in our own neighborhood. It also gave them organizations in our community they can continue surving with after the week is over. It does take some more administrative planning up front but was an awesome time. This summer we are adding a vbs component in a local park. |
