| | I almost never forward messages like these, but after verifying it with snopes.com I think it is worthy of your consideration. The Golden Compass You may already know about this, but I just learned about a kids movie coming out in December starring Nicole Kidman. It's called The Golden Compass, and while it will be a watered down version, it is based on a series of children's books about killing God (It is the anti-Narnia). Please follow this link, and then pass it on. From what I understand, the hope is to get alot of kids to see the movie - which won't seem too bad - and then get the parents to buy the books for their kids for Christmas. The quotes from the author sum it all up. Check the link.

| | Thanks for the link. It's so sad that in this day and age, the authors who have no belief in God and bash religion are the ones who are celebrated, receive literary awards and have the best selling books. Wow, we have our work cut out for us. The battle for our children's souls begin. May God empower all our ministries! |

| | On the flip side, my daughter has been reading "The Land of Elyon" series and loving it! I also recently found this website: http://www.discoveryjourney.com/And it seems to be a great resource. Also, pluggedinonline.com is fantastic for comprehensive, Christian movie/game reviews!

| | Here is the link to the movie. There is nothing on it that speaks of the true intent of the movie (obviously), but just by reading the hell-inspired fantasy of DAEMONS is enough to raise the eyebrows of even some not so religious people! Click on the DAEMON link on the upper right. http://goldencompassmovie.com/

| | PJ, Thanks for posting this. I did receive an e-mail about this movie. I didn't know that they were going to make this book into a movie until I got the e-mail. I read The Golden Compass two years ago. I didn't know that it was an anti-Christ book. It was hard to understand in places but I never thought anything of it. This book is part of a trilogy, the His Dark Materials, so there might be future movies as well if this one does well. The other two books are The Subtle Knife (I started this one but never finished) and The Amber Spyglass. We as Christians need to be praying that this movie would do horrible in the box office and the sale wouldn't be profittable so the continuation of the movies would be stopped if there was a plan to create the other ones. God Bless, Josh T. in Ohio

God Bless,Josh T. in Ohio Amen Josh! I say all members of this forum should unite in prayer and add this to our prayer lists. I had enough work to do unidoctrinating some kids, from "Christian homes", when Harry Potter first came out spewing it's demonic incantations!

| I just found out that my son read it (and the 2 others) at school. He said they were stupid BTW he has also read all the HP books but sees them nothing more than total fantasy. He has always been able to determine the difference and never believed them or let them sway his faith in any way.

PTL! That's because you are among the very few who takes time to train up your child and follow up and don't leave it entirely up to the pastors. Thank you. Coming from a family who practiced witchcraft and witnessing the oppression that comes from engaging in the occult I don't take this subject lightly, especially when I know of parents who don't teach their kids about the reality of dark spiritual forces (Eh. 6:12, Rev. 21:8 NLT,CEV & NIRv). I had a kid who told me that Harry Potter had more power than Jesus because he could fly! He was obviously to excited about the movie and forgot that the "living" Creator of heaven and earth walked on water, rose from the dead and did fly up into the clouds. I believe that Satan will do anything and everything to try and distract, sway and confuse as many children as possible, but he can only succeed when we as parents fail to bring up our children in the fear of the Lord and remind them that the enemy of our souls is real.
