| | What I do is list Wanted: pool Noodle : the area I live in . This is an example. YOu can put Lab Coats Then I say It for VBS or my Church . I get quick response. There are lots of people who love to give to help out. Last year I got quite a few things. Listing them all at once doesn't seem to work very well. Listing one thing at a time and waiting seems to work better. I explain what vbs is like a summer camp. I have even invited some of the people who responded to bring there kids. If you sign up for freecycle it helps you find one in your area. Hope this helps God bless Doreen

| | Try www.craigslist.com You can post anything there, and it won't be re-written. I like it way better than freecycle. |

| | I work in a dialysis center and I am trying to get the coats we use. They are thin and disposable and so I am figuring they are relatively cheap. They are similar to a lab coat, so I am hoping it works out. Just an idea! |

| | I started googling "disposable lab coats" and found many sources. One of the cheapest was Airgas another was Clean Room Consumables. It looked like you could get them for around $1 each. Of course they are adult sizes. The first source had no minimum order. The second you had to order in sets of 25 but was cheaper. Looking around at the pictures made me think of two other things that could be used for a scientist constume: - shoecovers like realtors use in new houses. Maybe they'd be willing to donate a box
- headcover that looks like a shower cap. This could be an alternative to a wild wig for a costume.

| | Just ordered for Airgas for the lab coats. They have many different sizes and you can buy in bulk if needed. |

| "Check with linen supply companies such as Alsco (American Linen) and Angelica. They rent labcoats to many hospitals, labs, etc. When they become threadbare, stained, or otherwise un-usable, they sell them cheap."
I am so excited that you posted this option! It reminded me that our local dry cleaner might have lab coats available - I just called and they are going to either lend or give us 15 or more lab coats for our VBS! Wahoo! And Ah-HA! I had just written a letter to send to local medical people, when I read this suggestion. I think we're set! Thanks, Mad Mike! JanB |

| | You can get disposable lab coats on line at e-bay. I got them for 30 for $19.95 and that included shipping. We got enough for the kids and everyone. We got the XL and then just cut them to fit the kids. They love them and the adults did too. |

| This was discussed at our last planning meeting. We will be asking our local hospital for some donations later this month. We'd really like to have our Sonic Sing & Play and Faith Fusion Finale leader wear one.

| We were finding clinics/doctors either: A- don't wear lab coats or B- they use a service so they only have the one they're wearing and maybe an extra. We talked to the medical school and the pharmacy school at the university in town, multiple doctors, clinics - all were telling us the same thing.
So I went to the uniform rental service - she rounded up and donated 6 coats to us that were out of circulation so we'll have a few for at least some of the station leaders to wear. I hear a couple of other people had connections and were able to find one for themselves so that will help. |
