| HELP! I am fairly new Teacher for our Sunday School. I have been working with the Middle School for about a year now, and one of the kids has opened up to me that he would like to learn the Lord's Prayer. He is an active boy and sitting still is challenging for him. Does anyone know a fun way for me to help him? Thank you for any suggestions! ~Katie

| Is there a Lord's prayer song? I'm 35 years old and trying to learn the books of the Bible. When I was young I knew them but don't know them anymore. I've bought 2 Book's of the Bible songs from I-tunes and am learning them by listening and singing along.

Hi...something I did for our Middle School bunch was to break it down line by line in the "regular" language" and then talk about what each line means in "real" language.
EG:
Our Father, Who art in Heaven=Hi God, who lives in heaven
Hallowed by Thy Name=You are one Holy guy!
and so on...I can send you the rest if you need it, but you get the idea.
After they went thru it line by line, it at least made sense to them...and to the adults in the room!
Also, every week, we close w/ prayer...anyone who want to can pray first, then me, and then I say something like:
"we ask all of these things in Jesus' name who taught us to say when we pray..." and then we recite the Lord's Prayer...even the preschoolers knew it in just a few weeks.
Hope this helps! Blessings!
Kimberly

| Gospel Light has created a Lord's Prayer song from one of their VBS curriculums in 2005. It has motions that go with it. Let me know if you'd like more information. God Bless, Josh T. in Ohio

| Something I did to help my 4th - 6th graders learn the Apostle's Creed was to write each line down on an index card, mix up the cards, and give each student the opportunity to put it together correctly. (I didn't require memorizing it, however, those who attend our church's day school seemed to know it well) You can put each line of the Lord's Prayer on the index card and as with above, mix them up and ask the student to put them in the correct order. As he improves, have him work on doing it faster each time. I think that this will help him get familiar with the words and the order they are in. It will make memorizing easier. I also really like the suggestion above explaining the meaning of each line.
