Children are out of school for up to 2 weeks over the Christmas break.  What fun special activities or traditional events do you provide for children or children and their families before or after Christmas day?

I'm thinking the week after Christmas might be a great time to offer something special to bring in the new year or further celebrate Jesus' birth. I want to offer something that will really excite my kids and also attract new children to our Children's Ministry.

What special experiences are you hosting before Christmas or after Christmas for your kids?  Please share.... I need some ideas quick!!!!

-Christmas Eve Jesus Gift - Children bring non-perishable foods for a local food pantry wrapped in white tissue to a family Christmas Eve service. After the live manger scene is set, we sing "In the Bleak Midwinter" or "We Three Kings" while the children place their gifts before the manger.  We even provide extra food items and set out tissue and twist ties in the foyer so visitors and children who forget their gifts (and it happens alot) are not left out.

We are taking our older youth to a Christian concert in Yonkers on Saturday night.
