I just wanted to say thank you for all the prayers.  Please continue to pray for Jacob.  He had 8 different blood tests done Wednesday which included immune system, rheumatic fever, and the arthritis panel.  We should get results of the blood work tomorrow.  He is still hurting.  The doctor took him off of all of his allergy medicines to see if he was having side effects to them which hasn't stopped the hurting.  He's lost  4 pounds in the last 2 weeks from not eating because he hurts so bad and he's not sleeping good at night either.  Pray that we will have some answers this week.  He told me last night that he can't take this pain anymore and that he doesn't want to live the rest of his life in pain.  I'm ready to take him to Dallas to the children's hospital ER and not leave until they can tell us something.  Please continue to pray.  Your prayers are greatly appreciated.

Jamie, My heart goes out to you.  I will be praying for your entire family.  One thing you can ask a doctor about is how your son is to deal with the pain.   I took my son to a neurologist this fall and was told that if needed, she would like to have him see a psychologist for pain management.   At that time, he was experiencing migrane symptoms.  We have not had a need for this, however, it sounds like you may want to check this option out.

My son (11 years old) became self-injurious and suicidal this fall becasue of the pain he was in.  He ended up in a psychiatric hospital and was diagnosed with anxiety.  I was told that he was throwing up for attention.  I thought, "yes, he is looking for attention because he is in so much pain and feels no one is listening."   So, now that he has been diagnosed, everything is automatically, "that is because of the anxiety."  I feel like I have to fight each step trying to find out what is causing the pain which is causing the anxiety.   I am trying to figure out what is normal puberty, what is the anxiety, and what is the core problem.   His meds for anxiety have helped tremendously and he no longer feels like hurting himself.  We are going to do one more test to rule out possible seizure activity.

Your son may develop anxiety over this, if so, don't let the doctors stop at the anxiety diagnosis to try to explain this.  You will know that anxiety will be a side effect of what he is going through because the other problem came first and you want to treat everything not just the anxiety.

I had more days than not this fall where my heart was broken to see my son going through whatever he needs to face.  He has also spoken with our pastor regarding some of the spiritual questions/concerns he was struggling with such as "Why is God allowing this?"  "Why is Satan attacking me?".   My son told me that his body wanted him to kill himself but he knew that suicide is wrong.  This I believed saved us from an even darker nightmare.  It has been a very instense difficult time but we are seeing it through and days are now easier.

I pray that you will find the answers you are looking for and your son can get the help he needs to feel healthy again.

Saying prayers for Jamie and Adrianne for all you both have been going through with your children.

You continue to be in my prayers as well. Hold on to faith and hope it is all we have. It is all we need.

Again, I can't thank you enought for your prayers for Jacob and our family.  Please continue to pray.  The ball is finally slowly starting to roll.  The Pediatric Rheumatologist has called Jacob's doctor and wants to talk to him about his case.  Please pray that we can get Jacob in to see her.  He is still in a lot of pain.  Also pray that Jacob's doctor will hear from the Rheumatologist today.  His blood work is in but the nurse wouldn't give me any results on the phone earlier.  Thank you again for all of your prayers.

It is so hard when you have to wait for test results.  To keep the test between the patience and the physician you have to come in.  Sometimes it feels like it another way to get more money out of us.  Sorry its hard since everytime I go to the doctor I have to give them my CO Pay.  15 dollars adds up when you go to doctor after doctor. So my prayers are with you.  Its not easy waiting . I pray allot and give it over to him.  If I didn't have the Lord on my side I would of gone nuts by now with my medical stuff

God bless

Doreen

Hi all,

I would also like to ask for your prayers over the next few months.  My son (19yrs old) just left today for basic training for the National Guard.  Although I am very proud of his decision to serve his country, I am also a mother who loves and worries about her child.  I know I have to give him to God and trust Him to take care of my son.  He was also one of my best helpers in children's church so he will be missed in a lot of ways!!  Thanks for your prayer, Angie

Jamie, God is a soveriegn and merciful God and what He allows in our lives is not contingent on if we have read our Bibles for the day or are following some man appointed formula.  Please don't allow yourself to fall into that trap of "what have I done or not done".

God is an amazingly gracious God and what He allows in our lives comes from His hand of mercy and love.  I will pray for your son and for you to be able to rest in His loving arms.
