| | I just wanted to update everyone. Again, I thank you so much for your prayers. Please continue to keep Jacob in your prayers. He has fallen twice since last Thursday. Once getting into our van and the second trying to get up out of bed. He says that his pain is getting worse and worse. We were at the drs. office yesterday for Zoie and her asthma when the Child Psychologist's office from Children's called. I got to talk to them on the phone while I was there. Yesterday was very plain that our doctor has stopped pursuing the medical reasons for Jacob hurting. The things that the doctors mentioned for him to do while we were at Children's have not been attempted at all. I called another doctor from another office yesterday and got Jacob an appointment for Tuesday and if there are cancellations for tomorrow then they will call me to bring Jacob in. I'm praying that there will be cancellations. I feel like this doctor will do what he can to rule out anything medically wrong. Please continue to keep Jacob in your prayers. We are very frustrated because we don't think that there is being enough done to rule out a medical condition. Thank you in advance for all of your prayers. Jamie M |

| | Keep fighting and pushing for the answer Jamie. I would also suggest documenting every doctor/hospital/clinic visit (names, place, dates, details) and everything that is said and suggested. You may want to consider recording so that you can review. If this should turn out to be something really serious that they are missing you may need it. I am a very pro-active health advocate for my family. Being in the health field I can tell you that you HAVE to ask a lot of questions and press the issues when needed. Far too many people just accept what is told to them. You can never be too involved and you can't have a thin skin because they do not always want you that involved.

| | Jamie, Have you or the doctors looked at fibromyalgia for Jacob? I just did a brief look up on the internet and find you can not diagnosis through blood work. In fact blood work and lab work are done only to rule out other possibilities. I also noticed sleep problems are an issue in fibromyalgia. Try looking for it on the internet for more details (I used "diagnosing fibromyalgia in children"). In one area I found that only 5 of 18 (instead of 11 of 18 for) pressure points are needed to diagnosis for children. Try doing a yellowpages search for fibromyalgia experts in your area. (or ask your clinic who has experience in this area) You can also google Jacob's symptoms for more research. Still praying!

| | Thank you all for your continued prayers for Jacob. Please continue to keep him in your prayers. He has been up since 5:30 a.m. due to hurting and because he is stopped up. We saw the second child psychologist today for our second opinion that our doctor wanted. After she talked to Jacob and looked over the paper work, she asked why were we there. She said that you have already seen the other psychologist. I told her what our doctor said and she said that it was good that he is now in Children's system. She said that Jacob definately has something medically wrong and that it is not all depression. Needless to say, we will have a new doctor. We have another appointment tomorrow with a different medical doctor. The psychologist today made some suggestions on what tests and scans to do for the doctor tomorrow. Please continue to keep him in your prayers. JamieM |

| | Please continue to keep Jacob in your prayers. We saw another doctor yesterday. We've known him for about 4 years now and he is great. He examined Jacob and looked over his file and read the notes that I have. I've been documenting everything. He said excuse me for a minute and went to his office to look some things up. He came back in and told us that this was out of his league. He's going to sent Jacob to Cook's Childrens Hospital in Ft. Worth to see a Neurologist there. He wants Jacob to have a muscle biopsy and to be checked for MS and Muscular Dystrophy and then whatever else the Neurologist orders. Please pray that this will not take long. He also prescribed Jacob Tylenol w/codeine to take at bedtime. Thank you all so much for your prayers. JamieM |

| Jamie, Praying that this will lead you to the answer. Your son may experience constipated from the codeine in the pain medication. Make sure he is getting enough whole grains, fruit and vegetables to help off-set the effects.

| | I just wanted to let our prayer warriors know that Jacob has an appointment @ 2 Thursday with the Pediatric Neurologist. Please keep him in your prayers and that hopefully this is the start of finding out what is wrong. It will be about 90 miles or so for us to travel one way getting there. Pray that we will have safe travel. Thank you again for all of your prayers. JamieM |

| | Jamie, Please dont loose hope.. I know how frustrating and angering all of this can be but please just keep at it. My son is Failure to thrive and it took more than 8 months to even get the Drs to do more than say.. stop breastfeeding him because obvously you cant provide enough for him.. my answer was.... well lets just say they knew I was not happy with them. I will keep your kids and you in my prayers. Make sure that if you have an HMO that you contact your patitent advocate... they are required by federal mandate to have one available to you. Also.. if you continue to get ignored and pushed aside.. Get in touch with a medical lawyer and ask them to draft a letter to the AMA. That will get people's attention really quick. I hope that this trip will be what you need to find his troubles..I am Praying that you can get a Dr that will listen to you.. the older the Dr.. the more likely they will.. I have found over time that child Drs.. the longer they are in practice the more they realise that us moms know what we are talking about when it comes to something being wrong with our kids.. so keep plugging at it.. make outside phone calls.. ask for a direct referral from your HMO if you need to. and make sure that.. where ever you go.. get copies of the test results.. try to have a complete medical record of your own that you keep with you.. so you dont have to rely on an overworked nurse or secretary to fax everything or messanger what is needed.. I have to fight each time just to get our results printed out for my son.. but with the 3 Drs that he sees.. I need them to stay connected and have learned that that is my job. Prayers and HUGS for you hon... Make sure that you have some peace too.. this is taking a toll on all of you and you can almost see it in your writing. Katie
