This is what we are doing for Buddy Bags this year.  They are 3 1/2" x 5" burlap bags with a drawstring top from www.papermart.com ($9.36 for a package of 24).  I was easily able to string leather lacing through the top casing w/ a large eye needle for the string around the neck.  I think I may have the kids do this, but you could also pre-prep this step.  For nametags we are using wood branch discs from www.ssww.com (6.99/ dozen) that will be strung onto the leather, then the kids will add pony beads to complete the look.  I have found leather lacing on spools of 25 yds for about $8.00 a spool (Sorry, I don't have that web address handy).  You could substitute yarn or even a heavy cotton string if you needed to save $$.  Also, if the wood discs are out of your price range I considered using the cardstock tags sold at office supply stores.  I thought it went with the feedsack theme.  Have Fun!!

I like the burlap bag idea. We did it for JM, but never thought of burlap again for AR. Thanks!

Guys, just a word of caution. Any bag this small  (3 1/2 x 5) will not allow you to put all your Bible Buddies in.  Groups bag is about 4 1/4 x 5 1/2.  Might want to double check!

Theresa, thanks for the concern, but I just made a prototype bag that size and the buddies fit OK. Group's is just a little bigger.

I also think the Bible buddies might be a little bit smaller this year or is it my imagination? I know we had warnings from somebody on the board last year stating that that size bag would not hold the buddies.  Glad to hear that size works!

Buddies are about the same size. They do fit in the bag, but you can always order the next size larger, 5" x 6" for only .54 each.

The burlap bag is a great idea.  I love using a lot of texture.

Burlap also makes a great background on bulletin boards too.

For this purpose also I labor, striving according to His power, which mightily works within me.

I like the idea of the burlap bags too!  The name tags from tree branches is great too!  Thank you for inspiring us!
