You could still act the bible stories by having the scientist in the lab have a "TIME MACHINE". I am going to have a room at the end of a hall be the Lab where kids will start. Then I am going to make the hallway into a "Time Machine" with a door and flashing lights and lots of weird sounds. The kids will walk through the time machine to another classroom where they will go back in time to the Bible Story.

Here we will act out the Bible story.

Then kids will return through the time machine back to present time.

You would have to write your own script for the Bible Story characters but the Bible has a great script.

wow!  I love the time machine idea!   We walk through a door with the kids to a dark back stage area where my husband does the story and that would be a perfect switch!  thank you so much

Due to the size of our groups, which are big enough that most of the things suggested would be impossible to pull off, we always end up using the verse and Bible story, but I get to write scripts for more of a drame persentation at this station.  We still incorporate interaction, just within the boundaries off dozens upon dozens of students in the room at once.  It limits us in what we can do, but we always manage to pull it off and the kids always enjoy it.

My point is that no one can package a product that is going to cover all of the bases for every church.  You know what works best for your size, your budget and your volunteer base.  Just consider what comes in the can a base and build on it.    If you want Bible characters, do it.  If you want some crazy science guy, do that.  And if you need suggestions, holler and I bet someone on here comes running.

If you can't make it with cardboard and duct tape, it ain't worth makin'...

The scenes are very creative, but very easy!  Day one you make a city with cardboard boxes.  Another day you use the boxes and tarps to make a boat for all the kids to get into. No backdrops and lighting to set up this year!

Oh, we'll be lighting things!  LOL

Also, I was reading and don't forget to pull out the stone tarps from previous years to cover the city for the day you make the boat!

(Got two more big boxes today!)

When it comes to costumes, I've always played it by ear.  On day one this year, I wore a bible robe with a lab coat over it!  After that, I usually just wore the lab coat over street clothes.  In years past I've worn lots of different things, not usually "Bible times" costumes.  Many of the watery days (ie. Jimmy and Johnny's Mom, Jonah and whale) found me in a life jacket with a rubber duck perched on my shoulder and a patch over one eye!  Miss Rahab-Kitty last year wore a red dress and false eyelashes! (Can you tell I'm a Drama Queen?)  Just have fun with it!  If you're having fun, so will the kids!

I think we are going to reuse the "rushing water" track from the avalache ranch CD. It will be easier than trying to download and burn whihc I have not a CLUE to even attempt. Good luck!
