| | It looks like I'll be going against the popular vote, but for us, the mixed age groups didn't work so well, and we've gone back to dividing them slightly by age. We all love the idea of helping our own kids grow into leaders and begin to see themselves that way, but our VBS is a HUGE outreach in our community. We have about 30-40 kids on a Sunday morning, and our VBS runs about 125 kids every day. Because these aren't "our" kids, and many aren't Christians or from Christian homes, it seems to work best for us (and these kids) to have them with kids closer to their own age. Crew leaders and Station leaders have also liked it better. I can see how the mixed age SHOULD work, but for our church, dividing still works best! We love GROUP though, and have used it forever!!!! |
