The size is listed in step 1. I believe it's 7 x 4 inches. If you use an exacto knife it cuts fairly quickly and easily. I would say that you can probably cut 20 (1 sheet of foam bard) In less than 1 hour.

Thanks for the tip about the chalk board contact paper.  I ordered 5 rolls today.  It cost me $30.00.  We will be using wooden door hangers for our chalk boards.  This will save me a lot of time, because we have over 200 children and painting would be very messy.  I would of had to prepaint.  On the back of our door hangers we will be using jean pockets to hold the chalk.

God Bless

PJ- do you paint the chalkboard paint right onto the foam board? I thought the paint would eat it.

Most spray paints will eat foam but you should be okay with other paints.

NO. The chalkboard spray paint does not eat through the foam board. I have samples on my site. I even give it a second coat to get better results. It works quite well.

PJ, isn't this foam core board (looks like poster board on both sides) rather than the big sheets of styrofoam like you use for decorating projects?  Is that why spray paint works or is the chalkboard paint different?

It's not poster board (the cardboard thin one). It's the one you use for presentations. I call it foam board because it has foam in between. I am sure it's called something else. I haven't check the can, but I am sure the chalkboard paint is made with different chemicals than the regular spray paint. Click on the logo to read more about it.

Actually, you have it right.    It's called either Foam Board or Foam Core.  It's used for mounting prints for framing, so check the framing section of Michael's or Hobby Lobby.  If you're looking for large quantities (10+ sheets) it looks to be a lot cheaper online.  You can also get black-on-black Foam Core at a slightly higher price but it may save having to do a second coat.
