| | A lot of you are aware that I have lupus. It's an immune system problem, where your immune system thinks that part of you is the enemy, and attacks it. (Definitely the laymans explanation, LOL) We had it under control with medication. Then I got staph infection, too. They had to take away the Lupus meds to treat the staph. Well, the staph isn't going away peacefully. In the meantime, the Lupus attacked my kidneys. They are functioning at only about 10-15%. This means that I retain a TON of fluid. I've gained over 50 pounds in the last few months. Since Christmas, it has gotten worse. My legs are so swollen that I can't put my feet flat on the floor. There is too much fluid at the ankle for my foot to bend at a 90 degree angle! And my legs HURT. Even the fabric of my pants touching them is painful. I went to the doctor yesterday. It has gotten so bad that the skin has stretched to the point of spliting open in small areas and the fluid is leaking out. I feel like a soaker hose! My legs are bright red and I can barely walk. The doctor put me on the strongest medication available to get the fluid out. If I don't lose 10-15 pounds by Monday, they are putting me in the hospital. And, they said that a kidney transplant may be needed at some point. I would truly appreciate your prayers. I am the caregiver for my elderly mother. She is in a nursing home, but there is still much to do with doctors appointments, her laundry, etc. etc. I only have one sister, and she is a drug addict. My hubby and kids help, but it's hard because mom wants ME. We have a business, and I have a lot of responsibilities there. Plus, of course, VBS and PFC....our ladies missionary group. Please pray that the fluid comes off. We also need to find a medication that will get rid of the staph infection so that I can have my lupus meds back! Actually.....I'd just love to be HEALED!!! Thanks in advance......and many blessings to you all.

| | Connie, I don't know you but I feel like I do because of our years on the board here. I am going to pray for God to heal you because we all know that he is still in the miracle business. I pray that you feel his hand holding you tightly during this time. I will be praying that the fluid comes off like it needs to and the drs. find the right medicine to arrest the staph completely so you can be put back on your meds for Lupus. You and your family are in my prayers. JamieM |

| Connie,
I like your horse....just have PJ add a bubble so the horse is riding thru the bubble.Like the kids get to have a bubble go around them.
We lift our prayers for your health to the Lord. May you feel His healing hands on you and may he guide your doctors in what they must do to help you.
Praying for you and your family.
God Bless

| | Connie, I believe snowstorms are meant to keep everyone at home for a day or two. It is a way to give everyone a break (especially those who never find the right time for a vacation). The feeling of waking up and being unable to do what you planned for the day can be stressful at first and then you feel the burden of the day lifted as you come to accept you are going nowhere for just a short time giving you a gift of a day at home. Once you make all the phone calls necessary to work and school and cancelling any appointments, you feel more relaxed. As you are facing your snowstorm, give yourself a break from as much responsibilities as you can. Accept that there are things you just have to give up for awhile. Take care of yourself and let go of whatever is stressing you. Your family and friends will want you to take care of yourself at this time. Your duties can wait or someone will come forward to help. Now for the hard part, there are jobs such as direct care that need to be done regardless of the weather. That is your mom. Do what you can this weekend to explain to her what you are going through. She will also want you to take care of yourself. Let her know what you need to do to get your health under control. Assure her that you will be fine and will be back to helping her as soon as possible. You will be in my prayers.
