Oriental Trading has bible costumes for children for $5.00 or $6.00 dollars. I couldn't find my catolog to see the exact price.

Just a quick note Not all Walmarts have the dollar a yard fabric anymore. Ours lost that . I loved when we had it but its not longer at my walmart God bless Doreen Yeah, same thing happened at my area's Walmarts. I can't go there like I used to anymore. I'm starting to tell our church members to collect old blankets, sheets, pillowcases, etc.

Puppetlady (2/28/2008) Oriental Trading has bible costumes for children for $5.00 or $6.00 dollars. I couldn't find my catolog to see the exact price.Oh my goodness! I've never seen these on Oriental Trading before! This is just great, I think we're going to stick to makeshift robes but I really like the headcoverings they have. Thanks for this tip!

| we bought sheets from a local thrift store, cut them in quarters, folded the quarters in half and cut a hole for the head on the fold. Did some smaller and some larger. Add a rope or a sash, and you have a fine costume. the sheets ran about $2 each, so that was about 50 cents a costume. For adults, we had folks donate fabric and had a sewing day when lots of people stopped by for an hour or two-- someone bought a singer pattern that had easy patterns for robes and tunics, and then we did some the same as the sheets, but hemmed the edges. all the scraps were made into belts. Lots of costumes quickly for very little.

| We bought pillowcases online from a nursing home supply store, cut them up the sides so they would be open and fit all sizes, and then cut circles in the top for head holes (ditto the post about not making the holes too big). Then we wrote the tribe name on the back with a "short" one-liner from the tribe description. The kids will be coloring them and writing their names on them the first night. We also have the bandanas for sashes or headbands, and they will leave these "costumes" in the baskets at their tribe area each night.

| Our church purchased used robes from Goodwill for the adults few years ago. They were either choir robes or graduation gowns. Anyway, we dressed those us with head gear and sashes. This year, we purchased biblical costumes for the children from Oriental Trading. They had a really good price. You probably can purchase them cheaper here then trying to make.
