Hello - I am directing my 5th Group VBS this year. I am from the Flint area and would love to hook up with others in Michigan to share ideas and such. Our VBS will be July 14-18 this summer.

Just to let you know that the Michiganders seem to hide and not post as much as say the Southern states...the chickens

Calling all chickens

He who works his land will have abundant food, but the one who chases fantasies will have his fill of poverty.

Proverbs 28:19

Hi everyone- I'm Linda.  Kathy - you are right in saying we're quiet - I know I am.  Bless those that do have a lot to say.  I'm near East Lansing  in a small community called Dansville.  We're about 20 mins southeast. Our VBS is week of June 22nd.

St. Johns is 20 miles N of Lansing.

In response to Dansville  I have family there!  What a small world!

I notice your VBS is after ours.  I don't know what we're doing in way of decorations but since you come to Dansville once in awhile - maybe we can pass on what we have to you.

Linda

Hello!

I'm from Grand Blanc but our church is closer to Swartz Creek yet has a Flint address!

We usually hold our VBS in August so I'm not too organized yet this year.  Had thought we would go with Standard's Big Backyard.  However, I have been reading "Why Nobody Learns Much of Anything at Church: and How to Fix It" by Thom & Joani Schultz and agree with everything they present in the book.  We also use Bible Blitz for our childrens weekly class and love it so I decided I should take a look at what Group had for VBS this year.  So far, I like what I see!

I am anxious to get a starter kit and take a closer look at Power Lab.  Would love to brainstorm and share ideas with all of you!

Lori
