| Greetings, Groupie friends! I just came on board with Group VBS last June--my very first week as assistant editor was the week of the Power Lab field test. One of the things I loved about Power Lab was the awesome music. I have been involved in music for my entire life and definitely had a blast seeing how much the kids loved singing the very high-energy (and some very touching) PL songs. We would like some feedback particularly on your experience with the piano song sheets that are provided in the Sing & Play Leader Manual. So please share with us: (1) Do you use the song sheets for your VBS singing time, or do you only use the CD and video? (2) If you use the song sheets, do you generally use piano only or add other instruments? (3) Does your accompanist like having the full accompaniment written out, or would a chord chart with melody line--such as many church worship bands use--be sufficient? We want to give you the best tools possible to help you get kids excited about being part of God's wonderful family, and we value your input in letting us know what is most useful for your VBS program. |

| We use the CD and put the lyrics on an overhead...that way, the kids can see the words and the actions by the song leader..Kimberly

| | Song sheets?? What song sheets?? Just kiddin...we don't use them at all. We use the video as well as about 5-6 kids that work on the moves for a month or so before and lead the whole group. The kids love it and the kids that are the leaders love it too. |

| | Hello! We don't use the song sheets, either. Like the other churches, our worship team of trained kids comes up and leads worship with the CD playing and the lyrics being projected onto the screen through Power Point.

| We do not use the song sheets either. All we do is project the DVD and turn up the volume!

| | 1 - We use the DVD for our actual VBS program. However, we do use the song sheets for some songs so that our adult worship team can sing them during their regular worship time. 2 - We use piano/keyboard plus guitars. 3 - Chord chart with melody line would be enough for us. You didn't ask but I will add that while it is great/helpful for the lyrics to be in the sing & play leader guide, I would actually prefer to have the song sheets in a separate book or folder to hand to our worship team instrumentalists.

| | We don't use the CD or DVD to lead the songs during VBS - we are lucky enough to have a music team who plays the songs for us, so the song sheets are invaluable. We have an acoustic guitar, a keyboard, and occasionally an electric guitar, plus one or two people who lead the motions. The music team plays the songs and leads the music. Our music leader is also a teacher by trade and he is really good about teaching the lyrics and motions to the kids one verse at a tim |
