| hi, we are doing our vbs in doors and will be using the church class rooms for tribal time. so we are decorating the iterances of our rooms. we don't have enough money to use foam for this since we will be decorating the stage and the foyer elabrate so i am using brown shipping paper and using a oval car wash sponge so evenly sponge on gray making sure that it all blends in. You shouldn't still see the sponge prints. Then dip your sponge in brown and make your rocks. My first try at this I went a little rock crazy and it didn't look real so then i only made a few here and there like the dvd shows with the foam walls this looked much better and real. Don't worry about washing the sponge before you dip into the brown, it gives it a rock effect if you don't. Then i will tape this to the wall. You can get some red fabric to hand on the door. Make sure you make fake wooden trim for your doors and windows After that make a few fake windows by simply using sticky velcro and yellow fabric stuck directly onto the paper wall. after that i have some florals and baskets that i am putting in front of the room. I know that this by no way compares to the awesome look that the foam wall and rooks give but it still gives the effect so if you are left with no budget after the main rooms are done then think about doing this.
