| | Teri you are welcome! Praying for one another is our duty as brothers and sisters in the Lord. I am happy to hear that your husband is doing better. Continued prayers for his recovery and healing. And yes, it is an awesome thing we we see our awesome God at work. But even when it seems that he is silent we have the certainty that he is there because he promised never to leave us or forsake us. It is especially in those times that we are to confess that his grace is sufficient for us. Be blessed, streghtne and encouraged in the Lord your God.

| | Update on my husband and testament to how God answers prayers. Dave went into cardiac arrest at 12:58 AM Wednesday morning (3/5). I heard him fall (I am not sure how) and gave him a nitro pill and then called 911. They had me breathe for him and perform CPR until the aid car could arrive. Our house was full of firemen and paramedics by about 1:06 AM. They continued the CPR and shocked him twice to get him going again. He was transported to the hospital and put directly into the critical care unit. They performed hypothermia protocol which means they put him in ice blankets to lower his body temperature to about 92 degrees. They have recently found that this protocol results in less brain damage after cardiac arrest. He was also put into a drug induced coma during the protocol. The doctors told us that we should expect some brain damage but perhaps only slight. Thursday morning they started to bring him out of the coma and very slowly started to warm him back up. He didn't really recognize anyone for several hours then he seems to act like he knew some of us but he wasn't sure who we were. He started to recognize the men first. by evening time he appeared to know who I was. We had a pretty rough night on Thursday. They tested his blood again on Friday morning and it came back with the enzymes that indicated he was having a heart attack. The cardiologist decided to do an emergency heart catheterization. The doctor prayed with us and then prepared for the procedure. A couple hours later he came out to tell us that he had some success. He was not able to insert a stent but he was able to use a balloon to open one of Dave's veins. Dave was just to weak to proceed further. Dave was taken back to CCU and proceeded to become himself again. Dave was transferred out of CCU Sunday and is now on the general cardiac floor. He was able to go on a couple short walks today around the floor. He is pretty weak but he is in very good humor. He is telling everyone how I beat him up and broke his sternum. He is surprising his doctors and his nurses with his progress. His doctors have told us he is making a "remarkable" recovery. They told us he will be there for a few more days then he will either come home or perhaps they will send him to a cardiac rehabilitation center for another couple of days depending on his progress. He seems to have no brain damage. He is recognizing people, talking normally, kidding us all, is able to move normally. There is only a slight short term memory loss. It is truly a miracle and testament to God's love and answer to prayers. I can not believe how fortunate we are. Sunday night we were home for the first time since early Wednesday morning. I am trying to get the kids back on a "normal" schedule. Thank you all for your love and prayers. I am sure that without God's intervention we would be having a totally different result right now.

| Dave took a turn for the worse on Tuesday afternoon(3/11). He was moved back into CCU. We talked to the cardiologist and he told us that the medicine alone was not going to be enough and we were going to have to do something surgically. We talked to local surgeons again and they still really don't want to operate. Dave was transferred to the U of W Hospital on Wednesday night (3/19). Yesterday we had a parade of doctors, surgeons, residents, interns, & nurses in and out of his room. They will be doing additional testing today. We haven't received the schedule yet but they are talking about the first part of next week. It looks like what they will be doing is using a "tandem heart" to pump Dave's blood while they work on his heart. I was told that they do about one of these procedures per month there and they have not had problems with it so far. The cardiologist that will be performing the procedure has about 30 years experience and I have been told by several people that he is the best! Dr. S.'s procedure will require the surgeons to start the procedure and then stand by. If there is a problem then they will be doing emergency open heart surgery. The surgeons are not really excited for this to happen. The surgeons do tend to give the worse case scenario so I was very depressed when they left the room. I am now working to get back the peace I was feeling when Dave was transferred to U of W to have the very best cardiologist in the whole area working on him! "He takes the hard cases." "He is amazing in how he is able to get things done." We have now spent 27 of the last 42 days in the hospital with this last stay going into its 17th day. We would like to thank you all again for remembering us in your prayers.

| My continued prayers for Dave and for you. For Dave I pray healing and recovery. For you I pray peace and renewed strength. Remember that through all of this God will be glorified and his will shall be done. Do not loose hope for hope is all we have and the best thing about this hope is that it is in a LIVING God.
