| I have a friend (I won't mention the name, starts with C) who feels called to the Mission field in China. C is a junior at my high schoool, and I am not sure if he will go immediately after graduation or what. Anyway, he is really struggling with his own personal fears about going to preach in a country where Christianity is outlawed. I ask that you please pray for him, that God will continue to confirm this call and give him the courage and faith to go through with it.

| I offer a prayer for your friend that God will touch his heart and lead him in the direction that God wants him to go.

| The mission field definetly has to be a true calling from the Lord and not just some..."I think I want to do this" type thing. Having a sister that is a missionary in Africa, and having gone to visit her last summer, and also experiencing the effects of things that happen to them etc...I would encourage your friend to make absolute sure this is a TRUE calling. And if it is...WOW...he is in for an amazing life. The life of a missionary is not easy, but the blessings of serving our Lord in that way, I believe, are blessings that regular old people like you and me will never experience. The mission field, whether here or abroad is a field that is ripe for the harvest. I congragulate your friend for even considering this awesome calling!

| Marshall, I echo what Missy said. Being part of a fellwoship (AG) whose emphasis is on world missions, and being part of a local church that supports 7 missionaries familes abroad (we occassionaly hear from them) it is truly a direct call from God. Not that you have to wait on God to do "missionary work", but to step outside of our comfort zone and into the unknown requires total commitment to God, his will, and the willingness to endure Matthew 5:11, Matthew 10:39, Luke 6:22. I will join you in praying for C. May the Lord continue to use you to encourage him as he seeks God's will for his life.
