| When should I begin showing those four commercials that came in the DVD? Our church uses a projector, so we could show them during both worship services. Should I show them now, to assist in recruitment, or should I wait until later, to generate excitement before the big event? What do you think?
Our starter kit just arrived last week! I've already dug through and looked at everything inside. We plan on using two of the recommended crafts, and purchasing from Ori_ntal Trad_ng for the other three days to save money. When should I send in my order for the crafts, as well as other supplies? (Our VBS will be held mid-July.) Does early-May sound about right? (A majority of our expenses will be going toward decorations. Some of that will be purchased through Group Outlet, P_rty C_ty, and other stores.)
Thank you for all your ideas! You have no idea how helpful this Forum has been to me in the past!

| I usually start the beginning of March, which is next week! Since a lot of families plan their vacations early I like to start as soon as possible so that kids and parents have an chance to get excited and schedule their Summer trips around it.

Partnering with parents to "TRAIN" up our children in the way they should go! |

| | I have a feeling Group is about to get flooded with orders. I just put in a big order this week. Then will probablly place the rest the beginning of April...which really is just around the corner. (our VBS is June 1-5) For the videos...do you have any kind of kick off day or introduction day? Ours is March 9th...I will show the big clip then. The rest I will do the 4 weeks leading up to VBS.

| I am already collecting supplies and ordering. We are finalizing crafts in the next 2 weeks and get those orders in. I am already asking for donations and pop up canopys to use. I am going around to different stores to gather decorations as sells and 40-50% coupons appear in the paper. Last year I waited too long to order items and I was not able to get the things I really wanted to use. So, order early!!

| I ordered all my Group VBS items yesterday from the bookstore I get my core curriculum from and what I need from the outlet. My VBS is end of July. I have found that some things indeed due sell out. What I know I want and can do now, I like to get done. Allows for unexpected events that come up (and even expected-daughter due to have baby in June and lives out of state). I have had a full page announcement in our monthly newsletter since Dec. because many of my people book vacations, camps etc. in Jan. I've had one women ask for that week off so she could serve in VBS and that allowed her to ask for the time off in July--first timer!! |

| I just showed commercial #1 today! They loved it 'old' approach it had. I might show another one this month but I don't like them as much as last years. I actually have every month designated for something. March is recruiting, April is donation of bottles, newspapers, boxes, etc., May is sponsers for kids, and June is donation of craft items and food items. This makes it alot easier than everything at once.

| | I agree with you. Last year's commercials were much more entertaining than this year's. Today I got a chance to look through my starter kit! After browsing through it, I have so many ideas! Is it just me or do the theme songs get better each year? It's apparent that Group has put quite a bit of effort into Power Lab! The layout of this program is so organized, and as Director, I appreciate it so much!
