| I saw a really neat experiment today. The demonstrator lit a candle inside a clear glass jar. Then she had another glass jar that was about 3 to 4 times the one with the candle in it and there was baking soda in it. She added red colored vinegar (easier to see) to the baking soda and just let it fizz away. The reaction produced carbon dioxide. Since carbon dioxide is heavier than air, the gas just stays in the jar a while. Once the fizzing stopped, she poured the carbon dioxide gas (not the vinegar) into the jar with the candle and the candle went out. Then she tried to re-light the candle with a match and as soon as the match went into the jar it went out because there was mainly just carbon dioxide in the jar.
It was a really cool way to demonstrate the power of something that we can't directly see, touch, or hear, - kind of like God's power.
