We hang our crew signs on our pews (we have to use the sanctuary for our opening and closing - envy you guys with gyms or large halls!) and I'm thinking about making pocket protectors with pencils, rulers, etc. coming out the top.

I made the stands for the tribe banners in JM (with pvc and a 12x12 piece of plywood).  I think I am going to sew banners for powerlab with the names of the crews monogrammed on them (since I do monogramming anyway).  We always remove all the chairs from our santuary to give the kids more room to dance and move around.  They sit on the carpet with their crews.

Puppet Lady, you shouldn't have just said that you do monogramming!  I might start stalking you now for help!

We don't do VBS until August so I won't start on them until around June.  However, I did find a clip art that I will use as guide and then just "tweek" it.  I'll put it on a transparency and then copy onto posterboard and let my volunteers color.

The clip art I liked can be found at http://www.fotosearch.com/photos-images/pocket-protector.html and it is the last one on the page though I will probably make mine more like the "plastic looking" one in the row above (with the pens and pencils) and the flap for the crew name.

I must be in the wrong business, they want $600 for a high resolution photo of a pocket protector!

Hi Ya'll,

Love the all the great ideas I've seen so far....what do you think about this idea for pew signs:  thought about using carpet tubes or pvc pipe painted in each crews color with swirling streams hanging out of the top of it, topped off with a blown up doctor's glove with the crew no. marked on it with a sharpie.  A inexpensive idea I thought and the gloves could be swaped out easy enough if they loose air over night.
