| Hey everyone!
I am just trying to get some ideas of what everyone does for the Sunday morning after VBS. We always have a program during worship... but looking for new ideas. Thanks
4 Him,

| | We also do the program during Worship services, usually the kids sing, then afterwards we show a slide show of what the kids did during the week. In the past we have had a race each night of VBS to see who brought the most money, then on Sunday morning they race one final time to see who brought the most for the week. I think this year we will have our Scientist as part of our morning program. |

| | We have always had the "Sermon" part of the service the following Sunday after VBS. I first get up there and talk a little about VBS, we then have the kids sing a song, we do the Memory verses and the Bible Points, we then sing a few more songs, and then we play our video/slide show for the week. We end the program with telling the congregation next years theme. Our congregation really likes to see the kids and hear them sing and recite the verses.

| | Last year we did a follow up skit (I write skits and we do them promoting our VBS, one every mth or every other mth until VBS week) and showed a slideshow set to music. This year we are going to do the Spotlight Drama and a follow up skit.

| | This is only my second VBS, and last year we did the Sunday program like others are talking about, but this Powerlab has such great music that we are going to have our praise band learn some of the songs, and have them give a sort of "Saturday Night Concert", along with some skits and of course the kids telling about what they did. We would like to make it theatrical with low lighting, dry ice -colored lights, glow-in-the-dark backgrounds, etc. Have fun with it!!! Lisa |

| | We have a closing musical/production, there is a free script to download in the freebies section of the powerlab website. We have a BBQ afterwards, and a few carnival type games set up, we serve the snacks left over that are still good (trail mix, freezies or popcicles, rice crispy squares in the past, cookies- whatever). we just have crew leaders walk around and pass them out. We do balloons, or balloon twisting, we've had cake and cupcakes in the past. If we get over 150 kids we prank the pastor. We used whip cream last year but this year we'll slime them. We've served ice cream in the past. We even set up a mini golf course one year. Not sure what we'll do this year, but you got me thinking. I hadn't even started planing the closing yet, and that's the most important part, hook the kids, reel the whole family in , it's all about casting the net! |
