| | I am stumped about why the "40 25 x 25 x 1 Flanders air filters" are on the materials list. Where are they used/did I miss it on the video? They are very cool looking..... |

| I couldn't figure that one out either... anyone in the know want to share?? the copper wire was a bit of a mystery until I saw a beaker on the table that looks like it might have copper wire coming out of it and connecting it to another vessel... I never bought the decorating dvd before and i must say I was a tad disappointed... I thought it would be less entertaining and more instructional... you don't really get a good idea of what some of the stuff is / how it was made... and why is it only covering the stage area and nothing else??? just wondering!- monica |

| | In the past, the videos have only decorated the main area for opening and closing. They do have the patterns in them which are handy especially for fiesta that had the great buildings. I don't think this one is as useful as others however. I don't have a solid wall behind where my backdrop goes so I can't tackle this project quite the same way as they did but I can use the concept. I can use the patterns and enlarge them to make giant beakers or test tubes to use elsewhere but then I looked on the clip art CD and they were there which is why this video was a bit disappointing. |

| | While were on the subject of Decorating DVDs... I'm very dissapointed in the Bible Times DVD. They build one huge set piece that it beautiful, but I think majority of us couldn't do it. I don't have enough money to buy tons of foam and there was basically no other way to do it. I agree that they are more funny than instructional. I would like to see Group come up with different ideas that include some really hard and cool looking props but also some simple easy and cheap ideas! If I had the money to do that set I totally would becuase it's amazing! --Matt

| Matt, Hands down... I agree with you! My art director looked at me this past Monday and said... "It will cost you around $1,00 just for that front main display!" I was very disappointed with it... it's an expensive DVD that really didn't help me out at ALL!

| | I plan on using the techniques shown on the DVD. There are bulliten board rails on a wall where I was going to put the set. I can staple 18in butcher paper to the wall and tape it at the bottom. Then I'll just paint it to look like the set, without the doors. God Bless, Matt

| Whew I'm glad I wasn't the only one disappointed in the deco. video! I just didn't mention it before.
A. They only showed you one main set design that was huge and wasn't free standing in my opinion and basically you can't do it without a $240 hot knife.
B. It didn't show anything else from in the pictures.
What we decided is to not make the set as tall or wide (sections wise) or put as many beakers wide.
We also aren't going to cut out all those words made of foam. We will just paint the signs.
The rest we just have to figure out on our own.
Personally my thought is if that's all they want to show in the video that's fine, but make it a part of the kit instead of charging extra. |

| I don't have the video but instead of using the foam pieces that you were talking about could you use cardboard? We get 8ft by 10 ft whole pieces of cardboard donated from Lowes. We just call and let them know that we want it and they save pieces for us. It is really sturdy and we don't even have to build a frame to hold it up. There is one fold which holds it in place just fine. We have used this for the buildings for Fiesta and the mountains for AR.

| I too am having a hard time the the DVD. I don't know if I missed it or not because I quickly glanced through it but does it state how large of a area the backdrop is made to cover? Our platform is not that big and I am not sure how much I need to cut back on for the materials. Also has anyone found a deal on Foam sheets? And also if using the cardboard how are you planning on keeping the beakers firm and free standing? Someone I am working with even suggested painting the background on a drop cloth and then using card board and smaller pieces of foam from a scrap store to make certain parts 3-D do you think this idea will work? We painted four backdrops for our VBS stories last year and everyone had a blast. We made trancparencies and traced the scenes out on the drop cloth and then painted it they way we wanted.
