This is my first VBS.I am stumped on the Stations.  I plan on doing the Power Lab program and have 2 1/2 hours to do it each night and it is insisted that we have time to serve the children a meal.  SO. I am totally confused at the time issue, the stations issue and the "Lab Crew" struff,  We will probably have close to 70 children.  I really need some help in putting this together.  When I ask at church, I am told to do it however I would like.  Ha, I don' t have a clue to what I like.

SOmeone......... Please............HELP!!!!

Yikes! Let's see if some of our VBS gurus can help out with a wise comment. That you posted this comment at 3am says something about how much sleep you're using as you sort out a plan of action...

Hi Joybell -  I do a 3 hour VBS and feed 200 children, so 2.5 hours IS doable with some tweaking.

1st - You can serve the meal instead of snack time. That's how we do it.  We Sonic Sing'N Play and one station rotation before the meal for a group to prepare the snack as the dessert for the meal. If you need to serve the meal first, a different group of crews can help serve & clean up after the meal the meal as their service each day. If you shorten your station times to 20 minutes, you can fit it all into 2.5 hours. You may want to keep Sonic Sing 'n Play and Fusion Finale 25 minutes.

4 groups  on 4 different schedules for 2.5 hour VBS

25 min - Sonic Sing 'n Play

20 min. -Stations(1-Bible Blitz/2-Crafts & Missions/3-Cinema Science/4-*snack prep or clean up, then short games session.)

**20 minutes Meal (with snack) (All groups - together)

20 min. - Stations (1-games/2-Bible Blitz/ 3-Crafts & Mission/ 4-Cinema Science)

20 min. - Stations (1-Crafts & Mission/2-Cinema Science/3-Games-(Spotlight Drama)/4-Bible Blitz)

20 min. - Stations (1-Cinema Science/2-Games/3-Bible Blitz/4-Crafts & Missions)

25 min. - Fusion Finale (all groups)

Each night change so that the group who had schedule 1 gets schedule 2, schedule 2 gets schedule 3, schedule 3 get schedule 4, schedule 4 gets schedule 1. That way a different group misses games during the first rotation period to help with snack prep. And a different group gets to star in Spotlight drama during their rotation after the meal.

*If you need to serve the meal first & wouldn't have time for snack prep, then simply have a different group help serve & clean up after the meal, then join everyone a tad late for Sonic Sing 'N Play. (With that schedule everyone would get games each day.)

Hope you sleep easier tonight.  Email me if you have questions or want to see some more creative schedules. I've done a plenty!!!! I'm happy to pass on what's worked for us!
