| | My snack cord. is a little concerned about the mucky mud snack not being very popular with the kids. Is anyone making something different? |

| I just has this at our Workshop Party thingy and it was good. Chocolate Pudding and Vanilla Wafers crushed on top. Try it before you discount it. Serve it to a couple unsuspecting kids and get their reaction.

| Heidi that sounds yummy! Thanks. I will relate it to my Snack Station Leader.

| Because of my son's allergies, I'll be preparing his alternative with [all natural] cinnamon applesauce with crushed graham crackers on top.
God Bless!

| | Our church is thinking about cutting bananas in half and sticking a stick in it like a popsicle and freezing it. Then you can pour on something called Magic Shell (it's like chocolate but when poured or dipped over frozen things, the chocolate hardens after a little bit). You can even pour small beaded sprinkle over it for decoration and to represent atoms. It ties in with the mud lesson and it has a sciencey effect to it since it turns from liquid to solid. And if you're going to have VBS while it's hot, it'll be nice to eat something so cold. Caroline from CA |

| Caroline that is a great alternative! I will add it to my Dr. Blindstein's Laboratory Website. If you do it before hand and take pictures send them to me so I can post them along with the instructions.

| | You can use the chocolate found in the baking section (WM is cheapest). Melt it in a crock pot and dip the bananas in it. Sprinkle on the decorations you want. It will harden. We make candy and use this to dip the candy. The mud snack sounds a lot like dirt cake (except you use crushed oreos). Our kids love it. We have used crushed vanilla wafers when we had lessons relating to sand (crossing the Red sea, etc.) and it's a hit. Most kids love pudding, and adding stuff to it is always fun. |
