| For exactly the same reason that men are not allowed to be workers in most women's group homes. When men are in a position of authority, girls tend to look up to and are attracted to them. Which in turn results in an emotional attraction that is easy to manipulate either intentionally or unintentionally. typically i would agree... but it seems more and more that the news is filled with female teachers sleeping with their students. i say the problem of immorality is widespread over both genders. In fact... i don't think the problem is reserved to even singles. man, woman, single, married.... the answer is: safegaurd, safegaurd, safegaurd

| i say the problem of immorality is widespread over both genders. In fact... i don't think the problem is reserved to even singles. I would agree. I am a single male (25 yrs old) and i work with 12-18 yr old girls and guys. I honestly do not struggle with temptation in this respect, however, my answer has really been in having a girl that works with me that i can defer girls to if needed. (By not being the only youth leader i can avoid relating to girls that don't know how to relate to me correctly). I also have constant oversight from a married couple that watches how i relate to the kids and comment if anything seems like it might be misinterpreted by the kids or by anyone else etc. Therefore. In my opinion guys should not have to be married to be youth leaders, but should not be the one and only person leading the group, and should (as anyone should) have constant oversight on how they are relating.
