hi,

What is everyone having their kids sit on, those that will be sitting on the floor?

the last few years we have used the mexican blankets, which have worked wonderfully...

i was thinking of space blankets but not sure if they will hold up for the week

I think the space blankets would make too much crinkly noise.  They're a soft metalic foil type thing.

I would think "clouds/fog" - spread out white cotton fluff... but the kids may tend to play with that also.

Maybe "bubbles" have circles printed that look like the floor has bubbles on it for them to sit on, one for each child?

Our kids never sat on the floor during music.  they stood and danced and learned the motions for the songs.

our kids do sing and dance also, the reason for them to have a "seating" area is to keep the chaos down and crews together.

Well, yes, we actually stand up for the music...but there are lots of other parts of the morning and closing (bible point/verse, skit, daily challenge, crew sharing...) that have the kids sitting on the floor...

What about different colored neon tape marking off different geometric shapes (big enough for a crew to fit in) all over the floor?  I was thinking of taking this approach but I'm wondering if the kids will peel it off...or how it will hold up for the week... our worship space floor is carpeted, but low pile berber style carpet.

We have not taped off areas for crews in the past, but we have taped off the games area (which actually IS the Sing & Play area, too). Ours is also carpeted and I'm pretty sure we've always used Duct Tape. It seems to last the week.

Our crew leaders just pick a spot inside the tape border for their crew to sit/stand together. It gives the crews a little flexibility for siblings or friends to be 'together' for that time, as long as their crew leaders are close enough. (Don't know if that was the reasoning, but it is what I've observed.)

God Bless!

Thats a good idea...I would love to do that but we have found that when you put tape on the carpet and then remove it...it leaves a sticky film on the carpet which doesn't make our Pastor happy...have you found a certain tape that doesn't do that???
