I'm new to the forum also I am starting my first Youth Pastor Position in a new church plant. I am looking for some ideas for an activity to do with the students within the first week of our launch. Any ideas will be greatly appreciated.

We do an annual Spring Contra dance for the middle school.  It's country for sure but they really like it because you don't need to know how to dance and every body dances together so there's no uncomfortable boy/girl stuff for them.  A three piece band and a "caller".  We also include a pot luck dinner provided by the moms, photo's in their western wear, and a cake walk.  It's a fun night.
