| | What's an open, accepting church to do? Many of these kids have churches they "attend" but they show up yearly for camp with their friends. Some of these haven't been heard from at all, and show zero interest in attending our church. What's your experience? Does it make sense to have a "come one, come all" attitude? Or, is there a time and place where it is ok to say, "I'm sorry, but no; however we would love to have you come to our regular vents if you really want to connect."? A tough one for me. |

| | If this is the only time and place you have their attention to teach God's love to them, then go for it! Remember, if you do not see the results, that does not mean your seed is no good, it just means it is one of the earlier seeds that takes a long time to cultivate. Insist that while at camp everyone participates in the bible studies and devotions.

| | Thought Puddle, My perspective has always been if they are there, then love them and teach them. You always have to go back to the purpose of the event. You can always use this time to really connect with them, hoping to bridge the gap! Or you can even plan a retreat for your committed students at a different time of the year. Regardless, by going back to the purpose for your camp you will always have your direction and answers. Matt Forum Moderator |
