Melody,

The "Easy" VBS is always on the left and the HolyLand Adventure is always on the right. Group has always created them that way.

To Everyone:

Remember to think logical and not too out of the box. Power Lab really got me because I couldn't believe it was so logical and right there in front of my face but I was way overanalyzing it.

I would say no to the space theme because Group already did Space Mission and on the back of the teaser postcard it says "Two all-new programs...two big-fun themes...two clues on the front of this card... but only one way to get your next clue! I think Group is saying this to reassure Holy Land Adventure VBS Directors that there will be a new Holy Land Adventure VBS and that the "Easy" VBS will be something completely new in the way of themes.

I do agree that the new Holy Land could be the Early Church after Jesus' Resurrection because Jerusalem Marketplace was Jesus' death, Bethehem Village was Jesus' birth, Galilee by-the-Sea was Jesus' ministry so all you have left is after Jesus' Resurrection.

God Bless,

Josh T. in Ohio

The postcard doesn't have to be that way..... It probably is, but they could mix things up. Pirates woud be fun, maybe those 3 specks are lights on other ships out at sea.

I just don't think bayou because of the lantern, it looks really old to me and it has a candle.

Here's some information for you about the HolyLand, which we all know is based off of Marketplace 29 A.D., which Group owns the rights to.

Marketplace 29 A.D. consisted of the following 6 themes:

  • Marketplace 29 A.D. (The early ministry and teachings of Chrst)
  • B.C. 1440 (Building A Holy Place)
  • Antioch A.D. 49 (The teachings of the Apostles Paul)
  • An Advent Journey (Jesus' birth)
  • His Last Week A.D. 30 (Jesus' arrest, trial, death, and resurrection)
  • Christ's Chosen A.D. 27-28 (Become fishers of men)

We have already seen Group recreate His Last Week (Jerusalem Marketplace), An Advent Journey (Bethlehem Village), Christ's Chosen (Gailee By-The-Sea).

So, it could be one of these three or maybe something new altogether. Just thought I would add this to the mix.

I totally agree...last year I was stunned at how far people would go to create a theme out of the picture..."It must be this because this is related to that which is part of this would sounds like that..." The cards have always been pretty straightforward...(well at least once you know what the theme is! LOL!)

I think that the midevial theme is the best guess... the lantern looks like one from that time period...

I can't WAIT till the theme is announced!!!

The lantern looks really old to me too...almost 18th or 19th century.  Revolutionary times would be fun.  Taking things back to the basics on learning what our country was founded on.

Has Chadder ever traveled back in time...or at least dreamed he was back in time?

For this purpose also I labor, striving according to His power, which mightily works within me.

I normally don't weigh in on these discussions, but the left side really has me thinking. I just got back from Disneyland and the left side reminds me so much of Pirates of the Caribbean. The first part of the ride is the Blue Bayou. In the queue you see lanterns very similar to the one shown on the card. Then as you float through the bayou, before the drop down into the ride, you see fireflies flying around the trees. So, I think you could go either Louisiana bayou or pirate. I think either one would be fun. They would both be challenging to decorate for though.

If we are right about the fireflies, I may just have to figure out how to make some. The ones that Disney uses are way too expensive (http://www.fireflymagic.com/).
