| | How hard and long does it take to make the solution? What consistency are we looking for? Any other advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Brenda |

| | Missy For years our anniv. was in the middle of church camp. But I would not trade the great times we had there with our kids for anything. Both of our kids are very involved in Children's ministry today, and we now are able to celebrate our anniversary on the right date. I cannot think of a better anniversary gift than knowing my children walk in truth! T |

| Hi Brenda,
I have not tried this yet. Buy I made a copy of a post from Jeannie B who did power lab during spring break. She said it took one adult and two kids 15 minutes to mix. It took 25 lbs of cornstarch and 2 an 1/2 gallons of water. I quote Jeannie " you know its ready to walk on when you can slam a fist into it , without splattering."
Hope this helps. Thanks Jeannie.

| | 15 minutes to make? That would be great - but I like the idea of making it the night before to be safe. Does it have to be mixed in gradually? |

| There was a vbs follow up post yesterday and it said it took them an hour to mix so now I don't know. I would think add the corn starch gradually. They also posted they used their hands as spoons kept bending.

| | It's best to just use your hands to mix it. Slowly add more water/cornstarch. It can become very difficult to stir. Yes, you can make it even a week ahead as long as you store it covered. As in previous posts, just add more water if it is too dry. I use it all of the time in school (I'm a teacher) and have no problems re-using it for a week in a center area, just covering it each night. I don't think it takes too long to make, maybe 15 minutes. If you're making a huge batch, it may be easier to make several small batches and combine them. I usually make enough for a water table (about 4 ft x 2 ft and 2-3 inches deep) and I use 3 boxes of cornstarch. The consistancy is hard to describe because if you push on it or squeeze it, it is hard, but if you pick it up and hold gently, it will run through your fingers. It is usually equal parts corn starch with water. |

| | Pam, I'd try stirring it. We made ours this afternoon after VBS was over. It took about 1/2 an hour for my three teenagers and I to make. We made it in 5 lb cornstarch to 1/2 gallon water batches in a bucket and mixed it (water first, add cornstarch a box at a time). Then we combined them in the bin. The whole time my daughter was mixing the bin with her hands. We never even used a spoon! Hopefully it will still be good tomorrow!

| | Funny - mine and my husband's anniversary is June 13 so it sometimes falls during VBS as well. My husband's b-day is the 19th and one of my kids b-day is on the 20th so someone or both usually gets to celebrate at VBS! angela |
