We have an industrial type kitchen where we will be doing our Test Tube Treat Prep.  Does anyone have a similar kitchen that would like to share their ideas for decor?  Any ideas would be so helpful.  I'm meeting with my decoration person next week (our VBS is early August) and would like to have an idea for each area.

Thanks!

if your able to, you might try using Wind Twistys, those shiny, twisty things that get hung outside...ya know what im talking about? well those kind of like DNA strands if you use reds, blues, and yellows, try hanging them from ceilings if its low enough or if you use tables, doing like a set of beakers or something to that sort in the center of them.

if you hang the twistys though, watch out for your taller kids who might want to hit them and twirl them around as they could fall or break or something to that extent.

good luck!

Because we are planning for 150 kids we have our kids pick up their food and go outside to eat for more room. My Treats leader really likes to decorate so this year we plan on having a "decontamination" entrance into the area. We are creating a walk thru decontamination area using fans, smoke, sounds, and other things to make the kids feel like they are being decontaminated before they enter a "clean" area complete with sticky static flooring.

We are building a "chemistry classroom lab" for our snack area. we are lining up rectangular tables in two rows facing the kitchen window. to the left along the wall we are building a bubble wall. inside the bubble wall we will have bubble makers blowing bubbles and have different colored light bulbs shining to make it look like a big liquidy area. the wall will be made from pvc pipe, connectors and clear drop cloths for painting. behind the tables we are going to have a portable room divider and put up the periodic table of bible books. and we are going to add a couple of chemistry type posters we picked up from the parent teacher store.
