We aren't using the OKK booklets that came in the student books we bought.  It seems like a huge waste.  Is anyone else in this same situation?  What are you doing with your OKK booklets that you aren't using?  I'd think that it would be better to sell the booklets and soccer balls (or whatever next year's project is) together as a set.

I'd like to keep the daily challenge strips in the student books, but replace the OKK booklet.  Looking at the individual pricing of items to equal the OKK booklet, I'd rather have a sheet of stickers and a certificate of completion included with the student books.

I agree, we aren't doing OK2K this year and that is a waste.  I would prefer the stickers to be included with the books like they used to be.  I would like to include the music CD, but that would really make the price way more than we could afford.  The certificate at the end of the book would be nice for the crew leader to sign and send home with the children.

I totally agree about the OK2K booklet, it seems a complete waste.  I do like the Daily Challenges being included and think the sticker sheets should be included since they are used in conjunction with the book.  I wouldn't mind seeing a discounted price for buying the Bible Buddies and books together as sets.  Still have them sold seperately, but get a discount for them bought together.  I think this would make more people buy both, just a thought.

Blessings,

Sheri,

This is only our second year to use Group.  I didn't reallize that the stickers used to come with the student books.  Do you know why they quit putting them in there?

I was really thinking that if they did substitute something for the OK2K (sorry about not adding the "2" earlier ), that it should be things that wouldn't increase the price . . . like the stickers and certificate.  But figured for a poll, all of the options should be listed.  I would be disappointed if they took the daily challenge strips out!

Last year, I made our own take home sheets and we did the prayer bears.  So we had to order the booklets seperately.  This year, my husband said it took too much time and too much ink to make our own pages.  And told me just to order the books.  But we aren't doing the soccer balls.

It's interesting to see what others would like.

Pam

We have elected not to buy the books this year.  Last year, I sent some back, and then still had left-overs.  I think the idea of missions is great, but, we just can't afford to buy books that the kids leave, and half of the book lies around for months till we get the money to ship them out.  I am wondering what I can use instead of the books, and still get the bang I need?

We have been doing Groups VBS for many years and have chosen not to participate in OK2K for the past few years.  It has gotten too expensive to ship the comnpleted project! Instead, we've opted to do something more local.  This year, we're going to collect money for the food shelf.

The books have also gone up in price, so this year we decided to try it without even ording the books.  We're making our own daily challenge wristbands too.  We love Group's VBS and the cirriculum is awesome, but it's getting hard to keep within our budget when the prices keep going up!  Anyone else feeling the same way?

I don't use the books either. We do our own mission project because of the cost to ship the items and the books are too expensive for our budget. Past experience has shown me that these just get left behind and are usually the first thing tossed after VBS.
