I just got an email tonight from one of my lead teachers and this is what she had to say about Living Inside Out:

"I just emailed (my co-leader) today telling her that this new program makes me look forward to the weeks I get to help. It is such a privilege. She agreed with me. "

It would be sad to see LIO end for us.

Thanks, Cindy, for your feedback!

We'd love to add more, too. Right now, let me know how I can help you out for fall. If you'd like to email me (dbernard@group.com) and share what the goals of your program are, I'll see how I can help.

we absolutely love the DVD songs and we do use some jumpstarts.   We never need the CD because we love the DVD songs instead and put them on in front on a big screen.  I dont use the countdowns.  We don't usually use the questions on the DVD...usually our people just ask them so if that is an area to save money for Group then its ok with us....we use the videos when they are in there....we love them.   We love the real life videos the best and the ones that just have someone talking in the background and beach scenes or the ones where a bible character is talking without seeing him or her doesn't seem to keep kids interested....Honestly, we love the large group stuff....small group stuff has been the weakest for us.   I like the take home sheets but its sure hard to get the kids to do them at home.   Some insight...hope it helps.

Here's feedback on what a church would find to be helpful additions:

--Electronic versions of the reproducible items (small group leader guides and student take-home papers). It is much easier, less time-consuming, and a much better quality end product. Moderator's note: This is coming when we re-release Heroes, Star Quest, and Wilderness Trail in June, and in the meantime, I would be happy to email you electronic files of the small-group leader guides (dbernard@group.com)

--The ability to purchase extra copies of the worship songs on dvd. Our worship leaders would like to practice at home. Moderator's note: We do now have Sing It Out Praise & Worship CDs (4 volumes, each corresponding to 3 modules each) that may help you with this.

--MPEG versions of the worship videos and the countdowns/jumpstarts would be helpful for those of us who use MediaShout (or a similar program). It makes it much easier (and faster) to switch between songs. We are not using the questions on the dvd because they are a bit awkward to use, and because we don't use all of them. Moderator note: Not sure which of these current files can be imported into MediaShout -- we'll look into that!

Hi Deb,

We just finished using LIO for the first time, and a feedback that I have is for the pre-school. We are having a hard time to keep them "around" during the Large Group! any suggestion or idea in how to make them more part of it? Thanks!

Based on feedback we have from other customers, I know that integrating preschoolers into the large group experience can be a bit of a challenge although very worthwhile. Here is a way to adapt the large group time so that preschoolers get some of the experience without being overloaded.

I would suggest having preschoolers in large group time for as long as they are interested and focused and then take them out a little earlier and begin small group time. Often, you'll need a little more time for preschool small groups anyway to really connect with the kids, to retell the Bible story, and to complete the activities.

Try to keep the preschoolers in large group through the worship time: Sing-It-Out and then the Make-A-Scene portion since this most often involves the Bible story portion of the lesson, and then break into the Preschool Small Groups if kids are losing focus. Depending on the lesson, kids may be able to stay in large group time for a longer period of time; it really just depends on the kids in your group.

I hope that helps. Please let me know how it works for your group.

God bless!
