The stories are very similar to HolyWord and that was absolutely one of the best years ever for Bible Adventure.  I will NEVER forget the act of painting the blood on the doorways and hearing the women wailing all around us.

I hope that Group has resurrected that activity!!!!

Ryan B,

Can you go over the Station Names and the Bible Point "Word"? Do you remember the names of the songs?

Meg,

I would think that the Dockside Drive-In would be the Chadder Station. Thanks for the stations!

Yes, Dock Side Drive in is Chadders Theater!

I don't recall all the names of the songs, but they are really good...let me see if I can look through my notes for song names...

The response to the Bible Points is "Fear Not"...It was really cool to hear kids respond with this. "God is Powerful" ...FEAR NOT!!!

It was a good reminder each day that we do not need to fear anything! Some really neat moments in this VBS!

Oh...and GOD SIGHTINGS is a key phrase this year. Each day kids are challenged to identify "God Sightings" around them.

Ryan B

Not sure what to think of this theme.  It looks cute.  Maybe more information will help.  Wondering what the OK2K is?

I am so excited about Crocodile Dock!!  Decorating is sure to be a breeze.  I already have a crocodile pool float like the one mentioned above.  There are giant growing crocodiles and alligators in the Steve Spangler Science catalog that would be so cool in a kiddie pool full of water...  And to top it all off, I am flying down to Lafayette, LA to visit my grandmother at the end of the month.  I am sure to come home with a suitcase and a camera full of awesome ideas.

Ryan B,

What is the motion that goes with the "Fear Not!" ?

Are the God Sightings like the Daily Chanllenges or something new this year?

Some of the songs you might recognize are "Get Down," "Everlasting God," and "You Are My King." Yes, Bruce Barry did the set and did a super job of making it easier than EVER. He'd actually been talking with people at a few conventions and had heard the frustration of "How can I realistically do this?" so he really tried to keep it simple...but very wow.

Peggy, we did base the Day 2 and Day 3 Bible Bayou experiences on the ones from HolyWord--incredibly powerful. Just updated and fine-tuned for today's kids. And Day 4 links Passover (which kids do on Day 3) to Jesus being OUR sacrificial lamb. Again, God was so there.

Coming in to work today, it was incredible to hear people share how their kids just kept on talking about God sightings over the weekend. Seems like kids really "got it" and have discovered that God is active, working in our everyday lives. So, so cool!

Oh, OK2K... (sorry, I'm trying to keep track of questions, but y'all ask 'em too fast!)

We'd thought (like many of you) that a Katrina-related OK2K project was a no-brainer. But when we spoke with churches in New Orleans, they surprisingly felt QUITE the opposite. They felt like it would open up wounds that were just beginning to heal, and wanted their kids to be able to help people elsewhere.

So, we're working with International Bible Society and Salvation Army to help children who've been affected by disaster (flood, tornadoes, hurricane, fire, earthquake). Kids at Crocodile Dock make adorable stuffed turtles, called Comfort Critters. Salvation Army--one of the first agencies on site after a disaster--will place these little guys in the hands of kids who may have lost...well, everything. This really hit home during the field test, since a neighboring community was hit hard by tornadoes. So many kids knew of friends or families who'd been affected, so it was very personal.
