With the Holyland themes is there no Chadder? I would assume not but thought I would ask. The kids would really miss Chadder. I have to say I was not happy with this year Bible Blast. The woman who does that station is a wonderful actress/storyteller. So we rewrote it with her telling the story because she was there kind of thing. She is wonderful. I also liked it more when there was another actor with her to help with the stories. I won't forget the year when they did a shadow reenactment of the crucifixion and she told the story while the kids watched the shadow. Very powerful!

Coleen,

Chadder only appears in Group's "Easy" VBS program. Holy Land is geared more towards Bible Times. There is a Music DVD though for the Holy Land program.

God Bless,

I know it's a little early to be thinking about decorating for this theme, but I wanted to point out some items I have seen that are going into seasonal mark down. The first is at the $Tree stores, the decorative fishing nets. They work for a fishing theme, but if you cut into an uneven shape apply craft glue and then dump on a package of craft moss ( also at $Tree ) instant, large, and easily hung spainish moss. The secong is at Wal-Mart, fake water lilys for home water features. Mine has them marked down in the garden dept. Now to get back to Power Lab.

I am sure that I am not the only one to say this: I don't like the way that each year Group adds items to their starter kit that we may not want.  For example, we do not do Operation Kid to Kid.  We do something else for missions.  I know a few churches who do not do Chadder, and a few years ago, the kit went up substantially in price because it was no longer an option to order the Chadder DVD or not, it was included, and, therefore, the price of the kit raised.  I do not want to pay $10.00 for something we are not going to use.

I love Group's VBS, but it is not a cheap curriculum, particularly for smaller churches.  May I suggest that you consider returning to a more a la carte offering of supplies... back to the $79.99 kit, and that you offer a kit with everything in it, as well (Chadder's DVD, Operation Kid 2 Kid, Etc.)  maybe at a special price for those who want more.  I know other companies offer the two options.  Just a thought.

By the way, we are doing Power Lab this week, and it has been such a blessing!  We love Group!

Sigh!  We have to wait until 2010 before we do Croc Doc!  But we are already bouncing ideas around..  We are about to do AR then get stuck into the Power Lab can...  A fog machine is on the shopping list for Croc Doc!
