I recall some year past- it was here or on the Gospel Light Board, there was an ADORABLE poem called the "Night Before VBS".  Does anyone know what I am talking about?  or have it?  It was so cute.  I sent it to my staff a few years back, and well, had a computer crash and lost files....all my cute volunteer "happies" were lost.  Thought it would be fun to bring it back again.

There have been some great ones over the last few years. Unfortunately this was the only one I could find in my files - but perhaps you could adapt it for this year?

Either way, this'll bump the thread up and maybe someone else has something better

‘Twas the last day of Fiesta

‘Twas the day after Fiesta and with a minimum of fuss
We finally got rid of the last pantyhose cactus
The chaos was finished, the church was set right;
With nary a donkey or flower cart in sight.
The crafts were put away, the hallways were stilled;
The children had gone, their hearts had been filled.
Gone were the shouts of kids having fun,
As we learned about God and his beloved son.
The stories of Lazarus, Ananias and others
Taught us in God we’re all sisters and brothers.
We’ve helped needy kids in the world’s other parts.
We sent blankets of love to warm bodies and hearts.
The truths have been taught, the seeds have been sown,
We’ve seen just this week how much they’ve grown.
The headaches, the late nights, the chaos, the mess;
It was all worth it we have to confess.
“Thanks so much,” she said with a grin,
“Only 51 weeks till we do it again!”

Here is one about a chemistry lab that could be adapted:

do a web search on "rhyming dictionary" to help you find words that rhyme.

Here is one I tweaked along the same lines as the Fiesta one -- "Rand" and Professor Phlem were characters we used for our skits -- adapt to your situation -- enjoy!! Kathy

Twas the day after VBS and after 5 “Power”ful days;

The images of Rand and Professor Phlem in our memories will stay.

The chaos was finished, the church was set right;

Without a test tube, beaker or slime in sight.

The crafts were put away, the hallways were stilled;

The children had gone, their hearts had been filled.

The music was quiet where the children sang loud and strong;

“Amazing Grace” in our hearts will live on.

The cookies were eaten and Diet Coke shot skyward;

The gizmos and gadgets were definitely heard!

The bubbles, the invisible pens and the goo;

The kids loved all the other experiments too!

Gone were the shouts of kids having fun,

As we learned about God and his beloved Son.

We heard stories of Peter and Jesus healing the lepers and blind,

About Pentecost and Jesus dying to save to mankind.

We’ve helped needy kids across the ocean miles;

We sent soccer balls with love to bring many smiles.

The truths have been taught, the seeds have been sown,

We’ve seen just this week how much they’ve grown.

The headaches, the late nights, the chaos, the mess;

It was all worth it, we must confess.

“Thanks so much,” she said with a grin,

“Only 51 weeks till we do it again!”
