I loved the addition of the slide show last year to the Easy VBS and so did the kids. Today was our first day of VBS and I couldn't wait to make use of the cool new features, like an easy-to-do Spotlight drama. Everything went great and we even checked the CD on an extra computer to make sure that our slide show would work. Then in closing it wouldn't come up on the screens. We have a computer that projects onto screens (like many congregations) but the program would not open up. I had to do some impromptu reviewing and we threw in another song. After consulting our computer folks to no avail, we called GROUP. It seems that the program isn't compatible to be projected! I am so disappointed and surprised. Has anyone had this problem or found a way around it?

Could somebody from Group please comment?  We are planning on using this next week.  Are you saying that after you take the pictures and add them to the slide show, you can't use power point to project the final product?  Yikes!!  I have to do some rescheduling if this is the case.

Hi

We used this last week and had no troubles projecting from our laptop through our lcd projector onto a large screen.  I'm not technical enough though to help you work through the difficulties that you are having, sorry.

I'm not commenting from Group, but most laptop/projector combos just project what is on the laptop screen.  Sometimes you have to hit something like Function/F8 to get the projector to read the laptop.

Hey all, a friend from a different city helped us figure something out. Our system does not project from a laptop but from a desktop computer with two monitors...one monitor that shows the regular computer functions and the other that shows what is projected onto the large screens in the front of the church. We were able to re-configure the set-up so that the first monitor wouldn't receive any info and it would go directly onto the "screen" monitor! It takes about 5 minutes to set-up every time we want to show Spotlight drama but it works and the kids loved it! I've learned that It is a good idea to test the spotlight drama CD ahead of time. Aha! : )

We also were unable to project Spotlight Drama.  We use 2 monitors with Media Shout.  Hope Group can remedy this for the future.

We did not have any problems. If your computer has two video cards, then you need to make sure that the projector or video switcher is powered up before you boot the computer. Most computers with two video heads (including _most_ laptops_) will let you set up the computer for two "monitors". Once the computer is set up for two monitors, AND you have specified the SECOND as the projector, when you start up "Spotlight Drama", it senses that there is a second monitor and sends the show (note, "the show") to that monitor (your projector). The main menu stays up on your computer screen. I fully tested this with a second monitor on my laptop at home BEFORE even trying anything at church, and made sure that I could get it to work - even wrote instructions for our teenagers who would be running the Power Point (for song words) and "Spotlight Drama". BTW, "Spotlight Drama" is not PPT, and will not run in Easy Worship, Media Shout or ProPresenter, but it did work, and was a hit. After day one, we had no problems getting volunteers before and after VBS for pix or even during snack time.

Do you know if you can just drag the window to the other screen? On our youth room setup, which is where assembly is held, you can drag something off the right side of the main monitor and it will show on the screen. Will this program work the same way?
