I'm currently working on how to build a human foosball table!

That sounds interesting Peggy. Let us know how that works out.

Being new to the whole "youth group" experience, I have to ask....how in the world do you play sardines?

I've always heard it called backwards hide & seek!

Here's the basic idea for the human foosball.  But I'm thinking of using snow fencing to form the sides of the "table" so the ball can't roll out.  And using less kids at once!

Lock ins are evil

It depends on how behaved the youth are. We don't do lock-ins anymore because of the youth's behavior but it's been a while. Maybe we could try it again...

God Bless,

Josh

The only overnighter we do is laser tag at Laser Quest. You rent the whole facility for the night which gives you space for food and drinks and a couple rooms for the sissies who can't hack playing Laser Tag all night long.

The thought of being locked up in our church building all night with a bunch of students frightens me for two reasons:
1. If you don't have enough stuff planned (or think you have enough planned) then they get bored and come up with their own games which usually lead to disaster and property damage.

2. It takes my body longer to adjust after staying up all night at a lock in then it did when I flew to the Philippines and back.

3. I'm getting old!

We have a small youth group, so lock-ins work well and they love them.

I am thinking about writing my own 'murder mystery dinner'.

We will play time consuming games that involve teamwork, then we usually have an 'ice cream bar' then watch movies.  The kids just like to hang out and socialize and have fun in a safe environment.  Now to think of more games....hmmmm.

By the way, we have decided to do this for New Years Eve.
