Information: Trinity Emmanuel Lutheran Church, an ELCA congregation, is seeking a qualified, energetic, self-motivated Christian with college experience to fill the position of Youth Director. This is a part time paid position requiring approximately 40 hours a month working with grades 6 - 12 (about 25 youth) on a regular basis. We feel that the most important role of the Youth Director is to be a caring adult friend to the youth: someone who is willing to take the time to hear their concerns, joys, frustrations and problems, and someone they can trust. This person needs to be comfortable speaking to young people about spiritual, personal, social and topical issues. The Youth Director is responsible for all programming and implementing of youth activities and special events. This involves organizing, delegating, and coordinating such things as retreats, service projects and fund-raisers, as well as responsibility for recruiting and coordinating volunteers to assist in implementing the youth program. The Youth Director will remain professionally current in the areas of leadership and ministry. He/she will maintain accurate up to date records of youth group members, youth group finances, volunteers, and programs, as well as maintain regular communication with the Christian Education Committee for goal setting, problem solving, evaluation and prayer support.
