At the Cincy Vineyard, where my friends attend, they have a slide that says "Please set your cell phones to vibrate and your phasers to stun."

Makes me laugh every time.

LOL! That is funny Peggy. That just gave me an idea for an alternative slide. How about,

Heelies are are MAJOR problem around here.  I saw a kid roll into a little old lady in Wal-Mart the other day - and the kid gave her the dirty look - like she was in his way!  Not even an apology...

There are signs posted in most stores (large and small) around here saying "no heelies inside store".

At our cub scout pinewood berby we had 2 kids wipe out - one sprained his ankle and had to leave before his car raced - the cub master, whose own kids have them, made announcements about taking the wheels out, telling the kids not to do it, and even announced someone had just gotten hurt so stop and you know what - the kids kept on doing it and the parents did nothing.

I will not buy them for my kids - as there are so many places they can't have them that I think it's a waste of money.  They already have inline skates, that's all they need.  I won't spend that much to keep popping the wheels out.  Also, we'll find out in a few years that it hindered their leg muscle development with all that toe pointing...lol

Okay, off the soap box and back to work!

I do not like "heelies" in side buildings anymore than I like running, skateboarding or roller blades. I was appauled the week that in my old church the pastor was encouraging a boy that was "healing" and asking him to do tricks. Yet when a child goes running by or wears a hat in the building he scolds them.

We have elderly (and people like me) who are easily off balance. My issue is due to obsessive thougths of VBS.

Anyway, I do like PJ's response in making sure the child knows they are ok if you are outside.

Just my personal opinion but glad to see that it's shared. Have not seen them at my new church "yet".

I have seen some kids in the church have heelies on and they ride around but it hasn't become a problem in the church.
