We are a latex free church and are having a hard time coming up with an inexpensive balloon alternative.  Our major stumbling block is on coming up with something to fill the large beaker with for the daily challenges.  One suggestion was to use ball pit balls but for one they are expensive and two, it would take A LOT of balls to make a big impact.  I checked into latex-free balloons (mylar I guess) but they are NOT inexpensive.  Apparently Methodist churches are suppose to be latex-free.  I'm surprised I haven't seen anyone else have this problem?

We used the striped beach balls from OTC:

I originally bought enough 'mini' sized ones for the crews' daily challenge, but we only had 16 crews each week and the balls didn't fill up the beaker at all. So we added larger beach balls to help fill it in - each day it would look like the small balls had 'grown' to fill the beaker.

God Bless!

I read where someone suggested using Diaper Genie refills as a tube-a-loon substitute.  This could also work for the daily challenge if you cut smaller strips and tie off the ends.  Another option might be sandwich bags or gallon size bags and the kids could write out their daily challenges and put them inside before they blow them up.
