I just wanted to post some helpful tips/ideas after finishing our preschool PowerLab last week.

I followed the bubble recipe exactly as posted & let it sit overnight but it kept popping about halfway up. Instead I used fly swatters (clean of course) and let them dip it in the pool and by simply waving them back and forth found it was a great & easy way for preschoolers to make bubbles. It looked like it was snowing bubbles so definitely do this outside.

I used just plain sand and water to make the mud pies which worked well with less risk of mess. I also put sand into the wading pool and let them play with sand toys which was also a big hit.

I used a parachute and a puppet instead of the bear and blanket. As I was explaining that Jesus wants us to live with him forever in heaven, the puppet interrupts and says he wants to go to heaven and has a great idea on how to do it. He then asks the kids to try to bounce him up to heaven. After many attempts and perhaps the puppet falling off, pick him up and have him wonder why it just won't work. Then talk about the right way to get to heaven.

If the tube bags are still on backorder here is what I did as a substitute- use the straws from the popcorn game to put a dab of super elastic bubble plastic, sold in tubes with a thin straw that makes semi-solid bubbles (most drug stores sell it cheap and one larger tube per 10-12 students is plenty). I then explained, "Before we know Jesus we are kind of like this little blob on the end of my straw but once you know Him he sends the Holy spirit to....(blow bubble) make us beautiful." They loved getting to touch and make their own bubble.

Have Fun!
