It's our goal to provide you with effective, life-changing lessons every week, at every age level--Infants through Adults. We appreciate it when you let us know when you think we're 'off' in any area, or have ideas for improvement. A couple of you had comments about the Fall 2006 Student Book, and we wanted to make sure you knew you're comments are not forgotten. Here's what you said:

"I use the First and Second Grade FaithWeavers. I have been finding the Bible Fun Pages (especially Fall 06) to be of little use in my class.  The children enjoy craft or puzzle type activities rather than drawing or answering an in-class activity page. I am finding myself creating or finding a craft type activity for the lesson almost each week to take the place of the Bible Fun Page. The children do not take the papers home since they do not seem to care about the activity they have done on the paper. Most can't read, so writing or reading is a bit hard to lead a group through each week."

Thanks for sharing your thoughts! We do try to make sure we are keeping kids attention in age-appropriate ways as they discover and apply Bible truths. We know kids have a variety of learning styles, and we try to hit on several each week through the activities in each lesson plus the additional idea online in the Teacher Tips section of www.FaithWeaver.com. We'll take your comments into consideration as we work on future quarters.

Another thought that might help in the meantime. As I mentioned about, we do provide a free idea or activity for each age level for each week online at www.FaithWeaver.com under Teacher Tips. This may give you another idea if you feel something from your FaithWeaver lesson for the week just doesn't work for your setting or group of learners.

Also keep in mind (I'm sure you already do!) that kids look to you, too, for how to react. If they see you excited and open to trying something new, or trying something you're not great at, they will be too.

The intent of the HomeConnect page is for activities for families to do together, so that parents/caregivers are equipped to help learners live out their faith. Perhaps you may want to make sure to have kids pick out one of the Daily Challenge activities from this page to commit to doing over the course of the coming week -- and then check in with them next week at the beginning of your time to see what they did, and how it did or didn't go as they expected.

Keep sharing your thoughts and ideas! And let us know if we can be of service in any other way. God bless you and your ministry!
